Antwerp edition of the so-called Louvain Bible, with the privilige granted to Steelsius. All suspected bibles in had been prohibited by an imperial edict and an authorized edition of the Vulgate was pubished in Louvain in 1547. This 'Louvain Bible' was practically a reprint of Robert Stephanus's Bible of 1538-1540. The present duodecimo-edition was printed in 1569 by Tavernier for the widow and heirs of J. Steelsius and published in 1570.
