Fine illustrated children's book of poems by the three most popular authors of the time, Samuel Johannes van den Bergh (1814-1868), Jan Jacob Lodewijk ten Kate (1819-1889) and Jacob van Lennep (1802-1868). The plates show children making a snowman, a boy riding a rocking-horse, feeding the chickens, playing at soldiers, putting doll's clothes on the cat, and mother with the cat on her lap admonishing her child to be gentle with animals.
