Ad 1: First separate edition of a history of the Far East, based on various authors, including descriptions of China and Japan and descriptions of the religions, the 'absurd variety' of superstitions, the Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch trade and expansions in the Far East. It is an abridgement of the text as originally published in German in the 'Petits voyages' of De Bry. Gothard Artus (1568/70-1628/30), a Danish historian, assisted also in the compilation of Hulsius's Voyages.
Ad 2: First and only edition of a rare Americanum by Caspar Ens (ca. 1570-after 1652). Compiled from various authors it presents an extensive history of the West-Indies, or the American continent. The book expands on the history of all the then known countries of South, Central and North America.

Good copies with early ownership's entry of Samuel Schallesius on the verso of the front cover.- (Title-page of (2) strengthened).
