Paris, for Ian Longis, 1547. Folio. 18th century marbled calf, spine ribbed and gilt. With woodcut illustration with woodcut border on 2 sides on title, several woodcut initials of various sizes, 2 large woodcuts within 4-part borders, and 15 woodcuts within 4-part ornamental and grotesque borders in text. (8), 94 lvs.

Second folio edition of Book 3, not mentioning the actual printer, the colophon reading: "nouvellement imprimé à Paris pour Vincent Certenas libraire. Et fut achevé d'imprimer le  premier iour de Decembre, mil cinq cens quarante sept". On title is stated: "On les vend au Palais.. en la boutique de  Ian Longis", and on verso title an edict is printed forbidding the printing and selling of the first four Amadis Books without the permission of Nicolas de Herberay.
The present second edition is the same as the first, with woodcut illustration instead of a printer's device on title. This illustration in repeated in the first chapter, now within full 4-part ornamental borders. In our copy not all initials are filled in, but several initials in various sizes are present, including 2 large black initials, one a large T against a field of fleurs-de-lys, and the other containing a seated God the Father holding a globe.
