First edition in octavo, published by Estienne Groulleau, for himself, Jean Longis and Vincent Sertenas, as stated in the colophon, dated 1557, on recto of the first of the two last blank leaves, here in the Vincent Sertenas issue. The present Book 9 is a revision by Claude Colet of an unsuccessful translation by Gilles Boileau, and is richly illustrated with woodcuts and fine woodcut initials, mainly from Janot's white alphabet containing his thistle.
