1-32, (4), 33-64, (2), 65-104 pp.

Very rare collected edition of Van Alphen's famous children's poems, here in its fourth edition still published in the same year as the first, and still without the name of its author on title. The second and third part mention the author's name on title.
An index to all parts is added, paginated 101-4. All parts are illustrated with the plates, especially designed by J.  Buys for Van Alphen's poems and they beautifully illustrate how children behaved, played, were dressed etc. at the end  of the 18th century in the Netherlands. These plates however, as Van Alphen explains in the preface to the second part, had been produced and published by J. Allart in Amsterdam, in parts, also between 1778 and 1782. Only in 1821 the Utrecht publisher Terveen was able to acquire Allart's copyright to  the plates and produce his own plates. So for this as for all editions published before 1821 by Terveen in Utrecht, the plates had to be ordered from Allart and added to the book.

Good copy.- (Binding used; as usual some sl. staining and thumbing).
