Popular schoolbook for the Greek language, with Aesop's fables used for Greek reading-exercises, 40 in all, mostly with their translation in Latin for comparison, and with extensive explanatory notes in Dutch. At the end another 20 fables by Aesop are added, in Latin only. As the anonymous editor explains in his first preface, the course being divided into three parts, each with their own preface, the book was adapted into Dutch for those Belgian children who did not speak French, after the very popular schoolbook in French by Le Roy. And besides, the editor claims, the Dutch language is really more similar and better suited to the Greek language than the French. He further strictly reserves all rights on his Dutch interpretation of Aesop's fables.
