Rare original edition of this treatise giving a mathematical perception of a specific water-wheel newly invented by A.G. Eckhardt. Henricus Aeneae (Oudemirdum 1743-1810) was a teacher of mathematics and physics in Amsterdam where Pieter Nieuwland was one of his pupils. He was especially interested in optics, perspective and construction of optical instruments. In 1798 he was sent to Paris together with prof. J.H. van Swinden to discusss the deimal system of weights and measures with many European scientists. This system was for the greater part perfected by the two Dutchmen.
