Original engraved green boards envelope, with an alphabet, the numbers, and an illustration of a pastoral scene with sheep on frontcover, and 2 alphabets, the numbers, and an illustration of a scene with horses on backcover, the title printed on inside flap. With fine engraved pictorial alphabet with illustrations of popular male and female street-vendors, their call added in 2 lines for reading exercise underneath, and the letter of the alphabet in capital and lower-case type above. (6) pp., incl. the covers. Popular American Battledoor, presenting an entirely engraved pictorial alphabet, printed on thick cardboard-paper. The alphabet consists of 24 letters, leaving out the j and the u, each letter relating to a different cry, Battledoor in America, starting with the A for Almanac seller, and ending with the Z for Zealand-map seller. Impeccable copy from the once again becoming rare New England Battledoors from the stock of Rosenbach's Uncle Mo.
