No record is found not only of this edition but of any edition of a "Groot A / B / C / Boek" or "Haneboek" ever published at Kampen. The woodcut of the classroom on title here is replaced by a woodcut of two pigeons facing each other, each holding a little olive-branch. But the large woodcut of a single cock on verso title proves it to be a real "Haneboek". The poem underneath the cock reads: "s Morgens den Haan zijn yver bewijst, Leert jonge Jeugd dat men U ook zoo prijst" (In the morning the cock proves his industry, learn, young  Youth, so people might praise you also). The title above reads: "Dat 's een Haantje" (This is a cock). The alphabet is printed in 5 different types, and instead of the vocals, lists of two- and three-letter words  are given. The contents are the traditional ones, with some variations. Here an extra piece on Christian punishment is added, and instead of the "Christian A B C", the  book ends with a prayer-song before and after dinner,  and a 6-line poem inciting children to learn when still young.
