Contemporary French brown calf over thin pasteboard, covers with three concentric borders each consisting of triple fillets in blind, with a centre piece composed from two stamps with arabesques, tooled in silver (oxidised to black), the inner border with gilt floral corner pieces, the middle border with the same corner pieces tooled in silver (oxidised to black), spine in eight compartments with raised bands, the bands flanked by double fillets in blind, the compartments each with a single floral stamp, alternately gilt and tooled in silver (now oxidised); preserved in a modern half black morocco box, lettered and tooled in gold. General title-page and 6 divisional titles (books 2, 4-6 with Cavellet's large woodcut device of a fat hen, books 3 & 7 with Corrozet's device of a hand holding a heart bearing a rose device).
